Thrifting Should be a Sport

And if it were I would gladly compete. I love going to thrift stores and finding something for a steal. There’s so much more variety there than in any retail store at the mall. A youtuber I like to watch does, among other things, videos about her thrift hauls.

Why do I link you to this video in particular? Because Bunny found two beautiful formal dresses at thrift stores. That’s something most people don’t think of finding at one’s local Salvation Army.

Last year I got my prom dress at one in a neighboring college town.

They had racks and racks of sample dresses that had never been worn. I got mine for approximately forty dollars.

Saturday I went to a small local Thrift store with my mom and acquired a modest haul.

My mom found this jacket right as we walked in. It’s a little long in the sleeves but when they’re cuffed they look great.

I dug through the men’s section to find some flannel. all I could only find really gross pilly stiff ones so I got this dress shirt that has the same plaid pattern.

This skirt makes me smile. I love superheroes, Captain America being my favorite, and I love skirts. I am considering putting black panels in as it is kind of tight. That’s the style of the skirt, but not the style I like to wear.

This is more of the style of skirt I like to wear. It’s to just about my ankles. I need to replace the elastic or put a tuck in it. Or just safety pin part of it like I did when I wore it tonight.

Not a huge amount of clothes but it’s a great way to refresh my wardrobe especially as I’m donating my old clothes to the same places.
